SHOULD MY dog BE GROOMED BEFORE THE SESSION?
This is entirely dependent on your own preference. A studio session may be more suitable for the just groomed look. If you are wanting an outdoor session then an immaculately groomed dog may not stay that way for long if they are having fun in the grass and leaves. I would recommend giving all dogs a brush through prior to the session to keep their coat shiny. I also suggest that you wipe their eyes and muzzle to make them look their best.
My dog has to be kept on a lead. will this show on the photos?
The majority of dogs I photograph especially when outdoors are kept on their lead. I will advise you on the best way to hold it during the session so that it can be removed digitally in the editing process. So don't worry, your artwork will be lead free!
What time of day do outdoor sessions take place?
The hour or so before sunset produces lovely soft golden light which helps create stunning images of your dog. If this isn't a suitable time for you then we will schedule the session either as late in the afternoon as possible or very early morning to make sure the light isn't too harsh.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day?
Having good light is important but that doesn't mean that the sun has to be shining as in fact a slightly cloudy day can create lovely light for photography. If it is excessively windy or hot then we will need to reschedule the session as the comfort of your pet is my top priority or if the weather is particularly bad (rainy, snowy or thunderstorms). When booking your session we will discuss another date to set aside should be need to rearrange. In the event of rescheduling a session due to weather then there is no additional charge.
Can I be in the photos with my PET/s?
You certainly can. The bond between pet and owner is very special and is always a lovely moment to capture for you to treasure. It is best to wear neutral or pastel coloured clothing and avoid bright colours and logos so that the photos look their best for years to come. Also think about what colours may look good against your pet/s and that compliment your home when you have the final images on display.
I have more than 2 DOGS can i have them all photographed?
Yes you can. There is a charge of £15 per additional dog to allow for the session time and editing. It is also advisable to have at least 2 people present at the shoot (other than myself) to assist with posing/holding leads especially if you are wanting a group shot of the dogs.
WhaT SHOULD I BRING TO THE SESSION?
You can bring a favourite toy to the season and also treats may be useful although if your dog is treat orientated then they may become distracted by knowing that you have something tasty and it will be harder to get their attention. During studio sessions I tend to suggest removing collars but if you would prefer that your dog is wearing one for your final images then consider which colour looks best and make sure that it is clean before the shoot. If your dog normally wears a harness please be aware that these are unable to be removed during the editing process.
I am worried my dog won't sit still. can i still have a session?
Of course. I have photographed all kinds of dogs from bouncy to shy and have always managed to capture their character in a session. I have worked with animals since a young age so know how best to approach them. I always make sure to introduce them to myself and my equipment before commencing the session to make them as comfortable as possible. I would recommend walking an energetic dog prior to the session to ensure they are more likely to relax.
What payment methods do you accept?
For the session fee, payment should ideally be made via bank transfer or PayPal. During the viewing and ordering session I accept all major debit and credit cards as well as cash. All orders are placed once full payment has been made. Large orders can be paid in up to 3 installments with the first installment payable at the viewing session. When an order has been placed and paid for it cannot be exchanged or cancelled.
Simply call or send a message so we can discuss your requirements and arrange a suitable date. Your session fee is to be paid 2 weeks prior to your session to secure your date and time.
